During the 70 years that we have been in business, our local communities have been very loyal to us and instrumental in our growth. We attempt to give back as we can either directly or indirectly. Below are our favorite charities and why we have chosen these to contribute to:
The Mary Kay Foundation
Our family has been fortunate enough to be involved with Mary Kay Cosmetics for almost 40 years now. Our company’s repeat, referral and golden rule practices have all come directly from Mary Kay’s business plan. The Mary Kay Foundation is a separate entity from the corporate business.
The Mary Kay Foundation has 2 distinct missions. First, it is dedicated to eliminating cancers affecting women. Since 1996, the Foundation has given more than $26.7 million to support this effort in grants to top medical scientists who are searching for a cure for breast, uterine, cervical and ovarian cancers. The Mary Kay Foundation is also committed to stopping domestic violence through grant programs and awareness initiatives by contributing to women’s domestic violence shelters and supporting community outreach programs. Over $46.9M in grant amounts have been donated to domestic violence shelters by the Foundation since 2000.
Navy Seal Foundation
We have a close family member who is a Navy Seal. Unfortunately, three years ago his little girl, Anastasia, was born missing her left leg below the knee and required a prosthetic attachment.
As she’s gotten older the family has had to travel all over the country to meet with doctors so that the correct style and size of the ever-changing prosthetic could be obtained. While insurance covers the medical expenses it is the Navy Seal Foundation that is picking up the tab for the family’s airfare, meals, hotels, and even several hours per month of free babysitting. The Navy Seal Foundation provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and its families.
“We had our wooden shakes and trim replaced with Hardie shakes and trim and our house looks amazing and our entire experience was great.”
